John Dumey is The Marshall Project’s deputy director of development. He brings more than two decades of development and nonprofit management experience to the role, having previously served as director of development for The Brotherhood Sister Sol; deputy director of development for the Equal Justice Initiative; organizational development specialist for The Innocence Project; and Director of Development for Bottom Line NY, among others. A native New Yorker who grew up in Brooklyn, John lives in Queens with his wife, who introduced him to development 20 years ago, and their two baseball-obsessed children.
